Steve and Kristy will soon be our neighbors… as in 2 miles away neighbors! As a wedding photographer in Maryland, I typically get my first inquiry from a bride online. Perhaps she has seen my blog, a friends’ images on Facebook, etc. and often the brides who contact me are from all over Maryland. Rarely have they ever even heard of Carroll County, let alone New Windsor! So when Kristy said she was from the New Windsor area, I was floored! I never get local brides! And at our first meeting at Starry Night Bakery in Westminster, we realized all the common friends we had and that Kristy and Steve were going to ask my husband Pete to officiate their ceremony! They had been visiting our church and loved Pete. So this is new for us – Pete as officiant and me as photographer to “clients” first. Normally, when we work a wedding together it is because they are friends from church, but in this case, Steve and Kristy were clients of mine first, and now friends! We are totally pumped to be working with them for their September wedding!!
OK, enough about the cool way we met… on to the engagement session. Because they are from Carroll County, I took the opportunity to shoot this session at one of my favorite locations right here between New Windsor and Union Bridge! The light was just right – that warm golden hour sun that graces us in June. We had a lot of fun talking about wedding plans the entire time and I am excited for their Musket Ridge wedding!
