You just can’t predict fall wedding weather in Maryland. Sometimes it is almost 70+ degrees or it can be cool and rainy! Maryland weather is crazy. Stacy and Randolph were married on a rainy October day. You may remember their Ellicott City engagement session. The rain did not deter them and we got some fun shots! Always bring fun large umbrella for a rainy wedding – no matter how hard it is raining, you can always make great photos with an umbrella prop! While we could not utilize the pretty grounds of the church, we were able to make use of the grand hallways and large windows of Turf Valley Resort! Stacy’s dress was amazing! I loved it’s simplicity and elegance – and bonus: it had pockets! Her pup wandered around during the getting ready time in the hotel and made it into a few photos too. Randolph truly loved on Stacy all day – it was sweet to watch! Their traditional ceremony in St. John’s Episcopal Church was kicked off by a bagpiper at the entrance to the church. The left in a white vintage Thunderbird! I think what impressed me most about this wedding was the amount of times I caught Stacy & Randolph in their own world on the dance floor. I wish I could say I see that at every wedding, but sometimes it is hard to stay close with so many family and friends around to celebrate with you – but these two stuck together! Congrats Stacy & Randolph on a beautiful wedding and marriage!

Holly and Jesse are dream clients. Their silliness is infectious and their true enjoyment of each other is so fun to behold. Their engagement session in the Silver Diner was unique and quirky and I loved documenting their Baltimore wedding at The Four Seasons with my sister at my side as second photographer. Jewish weddings are a blast. They really are. From the couple seeing each other first signing the Ketubah (marriage contract), the significance of the Chuppah to the whirling fun of the Hora to start the party, I always enjoy myself!
Rachel from Plan It Perfect Events is a true professional and took care of every detail throughout the perfectly executed day. The soft warm purple-gray dresses, pink flowers and slim fit suits on the guys looked great against the modern backdrop of a rooftop wedding set between sparkling glass wall at The Four Seasons Baltimore. I love all the locations at the hotel available to us for great photos. I loved when Jesse saw Holly during their first look. He was genuinely taken back by her and then pulled out a finger puppet from his pocket – an inside joke shared between the two of them that elicited a sweet grin from Holly. I love first look moments for wedding days!
Holly and Jesse stayed close to each other the entire reception (which I don’t always see, sadly), savoring every moment of their celebration. Their cake cutting as was elegant as the cake itself. These two clearly have a classy side as well as their silly side. I still get a little nostalgic during father daughter dances and always get choked up during mother son dances (NOT looking forward to the blubbering mess I will be on my boys’ wedding days). Holly and Jesse shared a custom popcorn bar from Stellas Popkern with their guests, which was a hit! They danced the whole time and I know their marriage will be just as fun for them. Congrats, you two!

Steve and Kristy said their vows overlooking a sun kissed valley on Musket Ridge in Maryland. This was a special wedding for us because Pete and I met with them for a few months for their marriage prep sessions. We had such a great time getting to know them and the wedding day was just perfect! Kristy is glamorous and beautiful and very down to earth, Steve is hilarious and the most genuine guy you will ever meet. They wanted the day to be centered on Christ.
I love, love, love it when brides’ daddies see them for the first time in their dress and get all teary eyed. Kristy’s big reveal was awesome with all her bridesmaids looking on with her mom, dad, sister and brother all there. But wait until you see Steve’s reaction as Kristy came down the aisle… best I have seen in a LONG time! It was fun to shoot a ceremony that my husband officiated. He even told our classic first fight as newlyweds story when he locked me out on the roof – yes, I huffed out onto the roof of our first house in anger over who knows what! But Steve and Kristy cracked up and I caught the moment as they glanced at me. This wedding had a lot of emotional moments and I was so honored to be able to capture them.
What I loved about this wedding was the handmade vintage feel mixed with the glitter that is Kristy! She and her mom made almost everything you see… they had the ultimate DIY wedding! The venue is a gorgeous modern/traditional space (don’t they call that transitional now?) with a great feel to it. They MADE the rustic cut log cupcake tower, and all the awesome crystal doorknob table numbers. Check out their old windows with chicken wire holding the place cards. The florals by Matt at To the 9’s were perfect – wrapped with different types of bark all set on a stunning full silver sequin table cloth.
Congrats to a great couple! Can’t wait to see your marriage flourish!
