Pete and I have watched Taylor grow into such a stellar young man as he came through youth ministry and went on to college. We had had the pleasure of doing marriage prep sessions with him and Amber this past year and were thrilled to witness their sweet wedding. I actually attended as a guest and not photographer, but just could not resist bringing my gear with me to shoot a bit. Pete officiated and I kept my lens trained on Taylor as he saw his bride Amber for the first time as she came down the aisle. He will probably kill me for posting these images, and there were about 6 more, but I have to share with you how intensely overcome he was with joy when he saw her. Taylor and Amber take marriage seriously. This is it – life with each other. They have been intentional from the get go about keeping their marriage centered on Christ and guarding it close. So his emotions came to life as she walked to stand by his side forever. I teared up as did most other women in the crowd. It was one of those super intimate moments you actually get to witness. Pretty cool.
I loved catching Amber checking out her new wedding band and capturing them sitting and enjoy the moment. Can you believe the swings? They were right next to the cornhole and horse shoes area that the guests were enjoying. The wish lanterns at the end of the night were a fun surprise. If you are planning to release wish lanterns at your wedding, I suggest you do it the minutes right after sunset – in that dusky blue light. If you wait too much longer, the sky will be mark darker. And yes, that is a flock of geese flying north by the string of lights… seriously – a perfect day. I don’t have many detail photos since I actually was enjoying the wedding with my DATE 🙂 but I will say that Amber pulled off the most perfectly balanced lacy feminine details paired with natural masculine rough wood elements throughout the fine details of the day. Congratulations Amber and Taylor. We love you!
PS – more images to come from this incredible new venue. Taylor and Amber were the 2nd wedding held there, and it is in my backyard! Yay for close venues!
